Disease spectrum and clinical characteristics of wounded,injured or sick military personnel in orthopedic clinic of an army hospital in recent 5 years

Abstract:Objective To analyze the disease composition and clinical characteristics of wounded,injured or sick(WIS)military personnel in the orthopedic clinic of an army hospital in recent 5 years,aiming to provide data support for rational allocation of medical resources and prevention and treatment of orthopedic diseases in the army.Methods The medical records of WIS military personnel in the orthopedic clinic in recent 5 years were collected from the electronic medical record system of an army hospital.According to the first diagnosis of each medical record,the diseases were divided into 6 types according to the nature and location of injuries,including trauma,spine,joint,hand injury,bone tumor and bone disease.SPSS 23.0 software was used to statistically analyze the prevalence rate,disease spectrum and treatment regularity of different age groups.Results In recent 5 years,23 853 WIS military personnel were treated in the orthopedic clinic of the hospital,72.47%of which were in the age group of 18-35 years old.In recent 5 years,knee joint disease,lumbar intervertebral disc herniation,lumbar muscle strain and soft tissue injury were the most common diseases,accounting for 52.81%of all WIS military personnel in the orthopedic clinic.The treatment of military personnel in the orthopedic clinic had a certain periodicity and fluctuation law.Conclusion According to the changes in the law of medical care requirements of military personnel,hospitals should allocate medical resources scientifically,strengthen the prevention and control of key diseases and discipline construction of military personnel,and improve the accuracy of medical security.
