Abstract:In children with malignant bone tumors, the resection of bone tumors often results in defects of the proximal epiphysis of long bones, which will ultimately directly affect the growth and development of limbs. Therefore, the reconstruction of the affected limbs after malignant bone tumor surgery in children is more challenging than that in adults.Recent studies have shown that vascularized fibular epiphyseal graft(VFEG)can restore joint function and maintain excellent bone stability, and further repair the growth plate to restore the axial growth ability of the reconstructed area. This paper reviews the research progress of VFEG in recent years to deepen the understanding of VFEG and promote its clinical application and improvement.
