Establishment and research progress of dry eye animal models

Abstract：Dry eye is one of the most common ocular surface diseases at present.Analyzing the pathogenesis of dry eye and finding new treatment strategies are the frontiers and hot spots in the field of ophthalmology in recent years.Establishing an effective experimental animal model is necessary and critical for experimental research.According to the classification of clinical characteristics,dry eye animal models can be divided into aqueous-deficient type,excessive evaporation type and mixed type.This paper reviews the establishment methods and characteristics of several common experimental animal models of dry eye,so as to provide reference for researchers.
