Abstract:Obesity,a global public health concern,is closely associated with various metabolic diseases and organ damage. The accurate assessment of fat content and distribution is crucial for the early diagnosis and intervention of obesity. In recent years, multiple imaging techniques have been applied in the diagnosis and evaluation of obesity.Ultrasonography, with its advan-tages of being non-invasive and portable,is commonly used for diagnosing hepatic steatosis in obese patients.Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry(DEXA)can precisely evaluate total and segmental body fat content, providing significant value for the pheno-typic diagnosis of obesity.Computed tomography(CT),with its high resolution, enables accurate quantification of subcutaneous and visceral adipose tissue.Magnetic resonance imaging(MRI),characterized by high soft-tissue contrast and the absence of ra-diation,is widely used for assessing ectopic fat deposition and holds unique advantages in research on obesity-related complica-tions.With the advancement of artificial intelligence,algorithms-developed based on imaging techniques have improved the accu-racy and efficiency of quantitative body composition analysis and ectopic fat detection.
