Abstract:Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of dual-source CT virtual non-calcium technology for bone marrow edema in knee osteoarthritis. Methods 36 patients diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis and who underwent knee CT and MRI ex-aminations were selected. After the examination was completed, the CT data were imported into a Siemens workstation, and the bone marrow edema mode was used to obtain virtual non-calcium(VNCa)images.Using the results of the knee MRI T2WI fat-suppressed images as the gold standard, two radiologists measured the edema area on the VNCa images under different Rel.Ca(relative calcium ratio,Rel.Ca)values.The receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was used to compare the diag-nostic efficacy of dual-source CT virtual non-calcium images for knee bone marrow edema under different Rel.Ca values. Results When Rel.Ca values were 1.39,1.49,and 1.59,the Youden indices were 0.468,0.746,and 0.658,respectively.Us-ing the MRI results as a reference, the intraclass correlation coefficients for the measurements of edema area on VNCa images by the two radiologists under different Rel.Ca values were 0.467,0.815,and 0.640,respectively,and the areas under the ROC curve were 0.579,0.857,and 0.643,respectively.Conclusion When the Rel.Ca value is 1.49,the diagnostic efficacy of dual-source CT VNCa images for bone marrow edema in knee osteoarthritis is the best.
