Abstract:Objective To explore the value of MRI in assessing postoperative recovery following arthroscopic repair of rotator cuff tears. Methods 45 patients with rotator cuff teas undergoing arthroscopic repair underwent shoulder MRI examinations both preoperatively and at 3-6 months postoperatively. The preoperative MRI findings regarding tear extent were compared to evaluate recovery outcomes. Results Preoperative MRI demonstrated intact tendon continuity in 43 cases, among which 6 cases showed normal thickness without abnormal signals,19 case showed normal thickness with abnormal signal, and 18 cases exhibited reduced thickness with abnormal signal.2 cases exhibited postoperative re-tears.Conclusion Postoperative MRI demonstrates high clinical utility by assessing tendon continuity restoration, thickness, and signal characteristics in rotator cuff repair patients.
