Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical data of 12 patients which had pneumatosis cystoides intestinalis(PCI)relevant to α-glucosidase inhibitor and targeted drugs, and to investigate the pathogenesis, clinical characteristics,endo-scopic and imaging manifestations of PCI.Methods 12 patients with PCI were selected in this work.Their clinical char-acteristics were analyzed, and the imaging features such as the scope, shape and size,as well as the treatment and prognosis were observed. Results Among the 12 patients, eight cases had diabetes and acarbose history. One case had gastric cancer and one case had lung cancer, both of them were received surgery and targeted drugs therapy. One case had a history of chronic bronchitis, nephrotic syndrome and rituximab treatment. One case with prostate cancer had been treated with targeted drugs. The endoscopic manifestations of PCI were uneven particles of colonic mucosa,blister-like changes, smooth surface and soft touch and the imaging findings were gas accumulation in different areas of colon or small intestinal wall, the gas forms were honeycomb, grape and beaded dense distribution.8 patients were complicated with free gas of varying sizes in the abdominal cavity at the same time. Conclusion The formation of PCI is related to many fac-tors.When patients underwent targeted drugs and α-glucosidase inhibitor have gastrointestinal symptoms such as abdominal distension, abdominal pain and diarrhea, the possibility of PCI should be aware of.Endoscopy or CT can be performed for definite diagnosis.
