Abstract:Objective To explore the application of high-resolution magnetic resonance imaging(HR-MRI)and multi-slice spiral CT(MSCT)in preoperative staging diagnosis of rectal cancer. Methods 157 patients with rectal cancer treated were se-lected as the research subjects. All patients underwent preoperative HR-MRI and MSCT examinations, and the final standard was the surgical pathological diagnosis.Kappa test was used to evaluate the value of HR-MRI and MSCT in the staging diagnosis of rectal cancer. Results A total of 157 patients with pathologically confirmed rectal cancer were identified, including 25 in stage T1,44 in stage T2,50 in stage T3,and 38 in stage T4,while,37 cases in stage N0,74 cases in stage N1,and 46 cases in stage N2.Kappa test was used,HR-MRI diagnosis of rectal cancer T staging showed complete consistency with pathological diag-nosis results(Kappa=0.879,P<0.05),and MSCT diagnosis of rectal cancer T staging showed high consistency with pathological diagnosis results(Kappa=0.784,P<0.05),HR-MRI and MSCT diagnosis of rectal cancer N staging showed high consistency with pathological diagnosis results(Kappa=0.799,0.785,P<0.05),and HR-MRI combined with MSCT diagnosis of rectal can-cer N staging showed complete consistency with pathological diagnosis results(Kappa=0.910,P<0.05).The combined diagnosis of rectal cancer lymph node metastasis improved accuracy and sensitivity, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion HR-MRI has a higher consistency in diagnosing staging T of rectal cancer compared to MSCT and pathological di-agnosis results, and the consistency of the two methods in diagnosing staging N is comparable.Combined diagnosis of lymph node metastasis can improve accuracy and sensitivity.
