Abstract:Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of magnetic resonance imaging-estimated proton density fat frac-tion(MRI-PDFF)technology and liver function parameters for metabolic dysfunction associated fatty liver disease(MAFLD).Methods A total of 91 patients diagnosed with fatty liver disease were enrolled and categorized into a MAFLD group(n=61)and a control group(n=30).The hepatic proton density fat fraction(PDFF)values and liver function parameters were compared between the two groups. The differences of hepatic PDFF values and liver function tests between the two groups were compared. Results The mean PDFF value of segment S1 to S8 in MAFLD group was(15.94±8.64)%to(20.05±8.89)%,and that in the control group was(16.37±9.61)%to(20.28±10.66)%.No significant difference in PDFF values among liver segments be-tween the two groups were found(all P>0.05).The mean PDFF values of the left hemi-liver,right hemi-liver and whole liver in the MAFLD group were(17.59±8.57)%,(19.37±8.88)%,and(18.44±8.56)%,while,those in the control group were(17.64±9.87)%,(19.57±10.32)%,and(18.60±9.98)%,respectively.No significant difference in PDFF values of left hemi-liver,right hemi-liver and whole liver between the two groups were found(all P>0.05).There were 20,10 and 17 cases of abnormal liver func-tion tests in MAFLD group, which were higher than 7,1 and 9 cases in the control group. Conclusion No significant difference in liver fat accumulation pattern is found in Couinaud segments, hepatic lobes and whole liver level between fatty liver disease pa-tients with MAFLD and control group.Patients with MAFLD may have a higher proportion of elevated ALT,AST and GGT.
