Abstract:Objective To explore the value of vocal cord function in perioperative period by Ultrasonography,so as to pro-vide imaging reference information for clinical diagnosis and evaluation. Methods 260 patients underwent thyroidectomy were selected. Then,we evaluated the accuracy of vocal cord abnormality detection in different sex, age, body mass index(BMI),na-ture of tumor and operation method before and after operation, and preoperative and postoperative vocal cord abnormality accu-racy,sensitivity,specificity.Results With laryngoscopy results as the gold standard,in 260 patients, the diagnostic accu-racy,sensitivity and specificity of ultrasonography before operation were 92.69%,87.50%and 93.22%,after operation, those were 87.69%,84.91%,88.41%,and the before and after operation, all those were 85.71%,90.19%,90.97%,the results were consistent with those of laryngoscopy(Kappa=0.815,P<0.05).The diagnostic accuracy of males, with age≥50 years old,and BMI≥24 kg/m2 was lower than females, with age<50 years old and BMI<24 kg/m2 before operation and after operation(all P<0.05).Conclusion Percutaneous laryngography can accurately assess the function of vocal cord in the perioperative period of thyroid surgery, which can be used as a screening method for vocal cord paralysis before and after thyroid surgery.
