CT features of congenital pulmonary airway malformations in children

Abstract:Objective To explore the CT features of congenital pulmonary airway malformations in children.Methods 101 patients with CPAM confirmed by operation and pathology were retrospectively analyzed,including the CT examination data.Results Type Ⅰ had 10 cases and CT showed multiple large sac,thin wall;Type Ⅱ had 85 cases,CT showed multiple paren-chyma cavities of variable size,the diameter of the largest cystic cavity was about 2.5 cm,with an occupying effect;Type Ⅲ had 3 cases,CT showed multiple thin-walled small cavities;and Type Ⅳ had 3 cases,CT showed thick wall capsule cavity and inner compartment,the diameter was about 3.0 cm.Conclusion The incidence of congenital pulmonary airway malformations was higher in children,chest CT showed the characteristic findings,CT facilitated positioning and qualitative diagnosis.
