Abstract:Objective To explore the assessment value of magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)combined with ultrasound in evaluating parotid gland lesions in patients with Sjögren's syndrome(SS).Methods Sixty-five SS patients treated in our hospi-tal were selected as the observation group, and sixty-four non-SS patients treated for dry mouth discomfort during the same period were selected as the control group.Patients in both groups underwent MRI to measure fat signal grading, parotid duct dilation grading, and various diameter parameters. Also,Patients in both groups underwent ultrasound examination, and semi-quantitative scoring was used to calculate ultrasound scores for the left and right parotid glands. The diagnostic value of each parameter for SS-related parotid gland lesions was evaluated using the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve. Results The observation group showed higher fat signal grading and parotid duct dilation grading, and lower upper-lower,anterior-posterior,and left-right diameters compared to the control group(P<0.05).The left and right parotid ultrasound scores were higher in the observa-tion group than those in the control group(P<0.05).ROC analysis showed that the area under the curve(AUC)for MRI combined with ultrasound parameters was significantly higher than that for individual parameters in diagnosing parotid gland lesions in SS patients(P<0.05).Conclusion MRI combined with ultrasound parameters has high diagnostic value for parotid gland lesions in SS patients, which can improve diagnostic sensitivity and specificity, thereby providing important guidance for treatment.
