Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical and imaging characteristics of patients with renal mucinous tubular and spindle cell carcinoma in order to improve the clinical understanding of this disease. Methods Retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical and imaging data of 14 patients with renal mucinous tubular and spindle cell carcinoma. Results 2 cases of CT plain scan showed low density, with CT values of 26 HU and 28 HU,respectively.9 cases showed equal density, with an aver-age CT value of(35.25±3.28)HU.3 cases showed high density, with CT values of 42 HU,43 HU,and 49 HU.During en-hanced scan, the CT values in the cortical phase were(45.08±6.34)HU,the CT values in the medullary phase were(61.33±11.94)HU,and the CT values in the excretory phase were(74.91±21.18)HU.The degree of enhancement was mainly mild to moderate, and the excretory phase reached a peak of enhancement. However, the degree of enhancement in each stage was lower than that of the surrounding normal renal parenchyma. In 7 patients, necrosis, cystic changes,calcification,bleeding,etc,ap-peared within the lesion;8 patients underwent MRI examination, with slightly longer T1 and slightly longer T2 signals as the main manifestation. They all showed significant high signal on DWI,while the ADC image showed low signal, with an ADC value of 0.50×10-3~1.47×10-3 mm2/s;one patient underwent PET-CT examination, which showed slightly high-density nodules in the re-nal parenchyma with increased FDG metabolism, with a SUVmax value of approximately 5.8.Conclusion CT plain scans of re-nal mucinous tubular and spindle cell carcinoma mostly show equal density, with relatively uniform density.Enhanced scans show mild to moderate delayed enhancement, and MRI diffusion is limited. These signs have certain value for diagnosis and dif-ferential diagnosis.
