Abstract:Objective To study the CT appearances of thymolipoma. Methods The clinical and imaging data from 14 pa-tients proved by operation and pathology were retrospectively reviewed. Results The lesions were located in the thymic region, all of which were solitary, with a maximum diameter of 0.9~4.3 cm.5 cases were round in shape and 9 cases were irregular nodular or mass-alike.The shape of 4 lesions changed over time.Fat was observed in 5 lesions, soft tissue in 7 cases, and cystic density in 2 cases. The average CT value was 2.7~33 HU on plain CT.There was mild enhancement in the arterial phase and contrast agent flowed away in the venous phase in most lesions. Conclusion Thymolipomas manifest as a mass or nodule with fat and soft-tissue components in the thymic region and some lesions do not show fat components manifesting as soft-tissue or cystic density.
