Abstract:Objective To analyze the MRI manifestations of children with Listeria monocytogenes meningitis. Methods We selected medical records and head MRI data of children with Listeria monocytogenes meningitis admitted to the Department of Infectious Diseases in our hospital for clinical and imaging analysis. Results Among 18 children with Listeria monocyto-genes meningitis,12 cases had enhancement of the meninges, ependyma, choroid plexus,or cranial nerves.Other signs in-cluded subdural effusion, hydrocephalus, widening of the ventricular system, widening of the extracerebral space, and widening and deepening of the cerebral sulcus.Among 13 children with monocytic Listeria meningitis who underwent MRA and MRV scans,no positive signs were found on MRA,while,3 cases had positive signs on MRV(thin venous sinus and increased signal in the frontal sagittal sinus). Conclusion Listeria monocytogenes meningitis is more common in young children, and the MRI findings of the meningeal enhancement combined with cranial nerve enhancement have specificity, which can provide reference for early clinical diagnosis.
