Abstract:Objective To explore the value of spectral CT in assessing the efficacy of lung cancer chemotherapy. Methods Totally forty-one patients with lung cancer confirmed by pathology and treated with drugs underwent a chest spectral CT imaging protocol before and after treatment. The changes of iodine concentrations in different groups were measured and calculated. Results After chemotherapy, the iodine contents in arterial phase decreased with the tumor-shrinkage (P< 0.05); the iodine concentrations in arterial phase increased with the enlargement of lesions (P <0.05); the iodine contents of no changed group in arterial phase and in venous phase of all groups had no significant difference after treatment (P> 0.05). The groups of Ki67<20%, 20%≤Ki67≤50%, Ki67>50%, adenocarcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, small cell carcinoma, cyfra21-1, CEA, NSE, squamous cell carcinoma associated antigen had no significant difference after treatment (P>0.05). Conclusion Quantitative analysis of iodine content with spectral CT imaging could be useful to assess the response of lung cancer to chemotherapy, and at the same time, it can reflect the therapeutic response of the different pathological types, Ki67 expression and tumor markers to a certain extent.
