Abstract:Objective To explore the feasibility of cranio-cervical CTA for large weighted cases (90.0±7.35) kg by Perspective 128-layer spiral CT with the technique of reducing the threshold to 30 HU combined multiphase injection of contrast-saline mixture with dual flow by 45 ml contrast agent. Methods 60 cranio-cervical CTA cases which were eligible were randomly divided into experimental group (group A) and control group (group B), with 30 cases in each group. The cases in Group A were injected with 45 ml contrast agent combined 55 ml physiological saline and reducing the trigger threshold to 30 HU. The cases in Group B were injected with 55 ml contrast agent combined 45 ml normal saline and the trigger threshold were set to 100 HU, and the remaining scanning parameters of the two groups were the same. Then, we compared the image quality between the cases in the two groups. Results The degree of arterial enhancement in each segment of head and neck in group A was lower than that in group B (P<0.05). The subjective score of head and neck vein development in group A was better than that in group B (P<0.05). The subjective evaluation of the imaging of each segment head and neck arteries in the two groups had no statistical difference (P>0.05). Conclusion It is feasible to take cranio-cervical CTA for large weight population by using 45 ml contrast agent.
