Abstract:Objective To study the difference between tibetan high-altitude heart disease ( HAHD) patients and Han HAHD patients from Lhasa by transthoracic echocardiography ( TTE) . Methods Forty-five HAHD patients from Lhasa area diagnosed in the department of cardiology in the tibet autonomous region people's hospital between April 2015 and April 2017 were included in this study. All patients were divided into two groups of tibetan and han. All cases were examined by TTE. The right ventricular diameter and pulmonary arterial systolic pressure ( PASP) of two groups were compared. Results There was a statistically signif-icant difference in right ventricular diameter between two groups ( P <0. 05). There was no significant difference in PASP ( P >0. 05). Conclusion The nationality is an influencing factor for the right ventricular diameter (the morphological indicators of right ventricular dysfunction) in HAHD patients from the same altitude areas.
