Abstract:Objective To explore the safety and efficacy of balloon-expand-able stent treatment for symptomatic intracranial arterial stenosis in a 30-day perioperative period. Methods The clinical and imaging data of 38 patients of high-grade intracrani-al arterial stenosis who were ineffectiveness of drug from September 2015 to August 2017 were analyzed retrospectively. The status of intracranial arterial stenosis, technical success rate, perioperative complications and clinical and imaging follow-up were ana-lyzed. Results The technical success rate of stents in this group was 97.36 %, and the average rate of stenosis (88.27 ± 5.24)% decreased to (11.24 ± 4.36)% after surgery. All patients were followed a 30 days of perioperative observation, among whom one got subarachnoid hemorrhage, and another one had acute stent thrombosis during the operation. Conclusion The bal-loon-expand-able stent treatment for high-grade symptomatic intracranial arterial stenosis is relatively safe, with high successful rate and better short-term efficacy.
