Abstract:Objective To explore the application valuesofcerebral blood flow (CBF) absolute value obtained usingthree-di-mension arterial spinlabeling (3D-ASL) technology in the acute ischemic stroke. Methods We randomly collected 82 healthy volunteers and 36 untreated patients with acute ischemic stroke, who were received routine magnetic resonance (MR), diffusion weighted imaging (DWI),magnetic resonance angiography(MRA),and 3D-ASL. ASL was performed in both left and rightmid-dlecerebral artery territories to determine the absolute values of the regional CBF. Case group and control group were respectively divided into the left and right side of the perfusion. Then, the obtained CBF absolute values from ipsilateral and contralateral mid-dle cerebral artery territories by ASL were compared. Results CBF absolute values measured by ASL form 82 cases of healthy volunteers were 50.35 ml/(100 g·min) in the right side and 49.16 ml/(100 g·min) in the left side. 36 cases of patients with high signal DWI (i.e. acute ischemic stroke patients) showed perfusion abnormalities, among whom 16 patients had ahigh signal DWIon the right side. CBF absolute value detected by ASL was 15.6 ml/(100g·min) on the right side(ipsilateral) and 31 ml/(100 g·min) on the left side mirroring to the right side. 7 patients suffered from right middle cerebral artery occlusion. CBF ab-solute values measured by ASL in 20 patients with high signal DWI on the left (ipsilateral) was 18.65 ml/(100 g·min) and 40.9 ml/(100 g·min) on the right side. 6 patients suffered from left middle cerebral artery occlusion. Conclusion CBF abso-lute values obtained from 3D-ASL technologycan quickly provide non-invasive cerebral perfusion, which can be used for diagnosing acute ischemic stroke.
