Abstract:Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of CT in pulmonary inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor(IMT) and to improve the knowledge of IMT. Methods The CT imaging findings and clinical data of 15 cases with IMT were retrospectively analyzed, all cases were confirmed by surgery and CT guiding biopsy and pathological examination. Of which,6 cases had plain CT scanned;6 cases had enhancement scanned;3 cases had plain and enhancement scanned. the imaging features including loca-tion,morphology,size,attenuation and enhancement were investigated and recorded. Results Five cases had chest pain,4 ca-ses had fever,3 cases had cough,3 cases had no clinical symptom,13 cases were single lesion,2 cases were two lesions. One case was located in left hilum lung presented as irregular solid masses with well-define margin and the left upper lober atelectasis. The other 14 cases(16 lesions) were located in the periphery lung,8cases(9 lesions) were round or similar round-shaped,6 ca-ses (7 lesions) were irregular-shaped. One case had notch sign which formed heart shape,3 cases had peach tip signs in the mar-gins of the lesions,2 cases had"halo sign". After contrast enhancement in 9 cases, the lesions were moderately enhanced, the blood vessels crossed over the lesions among 4 cases with normal shape in MIP reconstruction. Conclusion IMT is a kind of rare tumor,it has no specifical CT features and specifical clinical symptom. A differential diagnosis of IMT may be included in chest mass, the final diagnosis of IMT relies on pathology and immunohistochemistry examnation.
