CT and MRI manifestations of soft tissue granular cell tumor

Abstract：Objective To analyze and explore the imaging manifestations of granulosa cell tumor of soft tissue so as to provide guidance for the clinical diagnosis of this disorder.Methods 30 patients with soft tissue granular cell tumor,who were referred to our hospital from January 2014 to December 2016,were enrolled to conduct to a retrospective study.The clinical data of those patients were collected to run an extended analysis and the CT and MRI imaging findings were summarized.Results Among those 30 patients,24 patients underwent CT examination and 19 patients were received MRI examination,all of whom were con-firmed by pathological diagnosis.As for the tumor location distribution,a total of 12 case were located in skin and subcutaneous tissue,5 cases in the sellar region,4 cases in ovarian,4 cases in breast,1 case in uterine broad ligament,mediastinum,penis, ileocecal site,tongue,and bladder each.The images showed that 15 were solid mass, 10 were cystic-solid lesion, and cystic mass.and 5 cases were cystic lesion.The coincidence rate for the diagnosis of soft tissue granular cell tumor by CT was 76.67%, while,that by MRI was 83.33%.The consistency compared to the results of pathological diagnosis was medium,7 cases by CT and 5 cases by MRI were misdiagnosed, respectively.Conclusion Granular cell tumor of soft tissue mostly occurs in the skin and subcutaneous tissue,but may occur in all parts of the soft tissue.The sensitivity for diagnosis of this disease by CT or MRI is not very ideal.The final diagnosis still depends on pathological examination in clinic.
