Comparison of enhanced MRI and the combined method of ultrasound and mammography in diagnosis of breast cancer

Abstract：Objective To compare the diagnostic efficacy for breast cancer by the combined method of ultrasound and mam -mography with enhanced MRI examination.Methods 840 consecutive patients with pathologically confirmed breast cancer were enrolled.All patients had breast ultrasound,mammography and enhanced MR examinations.The accuracy,error rate,sensitivity of each modality were compared.Results The accuracy,Ⅱ,Ⅲerror rate and Ⅳ,Ⅴsensitivity of the combined method of ul-trasound and mammography were 80.00%,1.42%,15.71%,42.85%,37.14.Respectively, and those of enhanced MR ex-amination,were 87.85%,1.42%,10.71%,50.71%,37.14%.The accuracy,and Ⅳ sensitivity of enhanced MR examina-tion were all higher than those of the combined method(all P <0.05).Conclusion Enhanced MR examination is superior to the combined method of ultrasound and mammography in accuracy,sensitivity in breast cancer examination.
