Abstract:Objective To analyze CT and MRI imaging features of intracranial hemangiopericytoma retrospectively,so as to improve diagnostic accuracy and to decrease misdiagnostic rate. Methods CT and MRI imaging features of 19 cases of intracranial hemangiopericytoma confirmed by surgery and pathology were retrospectively analyzed. Results 18 cases were extra-axial,and 1 case intra-axial.Lobulation was present in most of the tumors wth slightly long T1 and slightly long T2 signal intensity.Homogeneous and heterogeneous signal intensity representing cystic change or necrosis were in 5 and 13 cases, respectively.Flow void was found in 9 cases.Peritumoral ring with low signal on T1 WI and Peritumoral edema were revealed in 11 and 14 cases,respectively.Post-contrast scan showed prominent non-homogeneous and homogeneous enhancement in 13 and6 cases, respectively. All the 18 extra-axial tumors showed dural attachment, with 11 cases being narrow-based and 7 cases being broad-based."Dural tail"sign was seen in 7 cases.Bone erosion was seen in 3 cases. Conclusion Intracranial Hemangiopericytoma has some characteristics on CT and MRI Imaging.Diagnostic accuracy before surgery may be improved with careful observation of this features and correlating with clinical data.It is confirmed by pathology and immunochemistry.
