Abstract:Objective To study the application value of low-dose MSCT scanning technique in pulmonary embolism angiography. Methods Eighty subjects were enrolled in this study. They were divided into two groups: group A with conventional dose of 100 mAs and group B with low dose of 40 mAs, and other scanning parameters were exactly same in two groups. Radiation dose and imaging quality in groups A and B were compared. Results The effective dose given to patients in groups A and B were 5.1±0.8 and 1.4±0.5, respectively. The dose given to patients in group B was significantly lower than patients in group B, and there were significant differences between two groups (P<0.05). Of imaging evaluation showed that image noise increased as mAs decreased (P<0.05). However, central and peripheral pulmonary SNR, central and peripheral pulmonary CNR, and subjective evaluation scores in group B were lower than those in group A, and no significant differences were observed in two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion Low-dose MSCT scanning technique by reducing mAs can greatly reduce the radiation dose, and the obtained image quality can satisfy clinical diagnosis requirement. Thus,it is worthwhile to extensively apply this technique.
