Abstract:Objective To evaluate the correlation between Intima-Media Thickness (IMT) of right subclavian artery and coronary atherosclerosis disease compared to IMT of carotid bulb. Methods A total of 43 patients who were diagnosed as CAD in our hospital were involved. The coronary and carotid artery imaging in CCTA and Ultra-sonography (US) was reviewed. Gensini score was used in CCTA and IMT was used in US (carotid bulb and beginning at right subclavian artery). The incident of thickening IMT in artery was analyzed and the correlation between IMT of carotid bulb and right subclavian artery with coronary Genisini score were evaluated and compared. Results IMT thickness of carotid artery was found in all of the patients with 43 cases in right, 40 cases in left and 40 cases in the bilateral. But, only 37 cases of IMT thickness were found in the beginning of right subclavian. The accident accuracy was 100% and 90.70%, respectively. But, the correlation of between Gensini score of coronary with subclavian artery was higher than that with carotid bulb (r=0.83 and 0.67, respectively). Conclusion Although the IMT thickening accident of right subclavian artery is lower than carotid artery, the correlation of right subclavian artery with CCTA score is higher than carotid artery. So, the IMT of right subclavian artery is a good reference index of CAD.
