MRI appearance of cerebral cortical based tumors

Abstract：Objective To study MRI features of cerebral cortical based tumors.Methods A retrospective analysis of preoperative comvention MR images of 187 patients of cerebral cortical based tumors was carried out to summrize the MRI features and differential points.Results Of the 187 cases, 80 were oligoastrocytomas, 22 were diffuse astrocytoms 17 were dysembryoplastic neuroepithelial tumors (DNET), 14 were glioblastomas, 11were gangliongliomas, 11 were oligodendrocytomas, 11 were anaplastic oligoastrocytomas, 6 were anaplastic oligodendrogliomas, 4 were pleomorphic xanthoastrocytomas (PXA), 4 were malignant lymphomas, 4 were ependymomas, 3 were anaplastic ependymomas, 2 were gliosarcomas, 2 were supratentorial primitive neuroectodermal tumors (PNET) , 1 was gangliocytoma, 1 was metastatic tumor, and 1 was anaplastic astrocytoma.Conclusion MRI features of cerebral corlieal based tumors can be helpful in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis.
