Correlation of atherosclerosis between coronary and carotid-cerebrovascular artery with high-pitch dual-source CT: a preliminary study
Abstract:Objective Using one-stop high-pitch dual source computed tomography coronary and cerebrovascular angiography to discuss the association of calcium score between coronary , carotid and cerebrovascular arteries , and the diagnostic and predic-tive value for detecting the significant artery stenosis .Methods Totally, 63 patients performed the simultaneous coronary and ca-rotid-cerebrovascular CTA by using dual source CT were included , coronary, carotid and cerebrovascular arteries calcium scores were comparatively analyzed .We counted up the presence of coronary and carotid-cerebrovascular significant stenosis (≥50%) , and analyzed the relationship of the calcium score between Coronary and carotid -cerebrovascular arteries in the significant stenosis group and non-significant stenosis group , then found out the cutoff point .Results There was a significant correlation between coronary, carotid and cerebrovascular calcium scores ( P <0.05).Coronary artery calcium score could diagnose and predict the coronary significant stenosis well , the cutoff point was 107.5, the area under the ROC curve was 0.841, the sensitivity and speci-ficity were 57.9%, 96.6%.On the other hand, the internal carotid calcium score could diagnose and predict the carotid -cerebro-vascular arteries significant stenosis well , the cutoff point was 15.0, the area under the ROC curve was 0.762, the sensitivity and specificity were 92.3%, 62.0%.Conclusion High-pitch dual-source CT angiography of coronary and carotid-cerebrovascular arteries could be used for detecting the primary correlation of atherosclerosis between coronary and carotid -cerebrovascular arteries .
