Clinical and MRI manifestations in patients with traumatic cervical spinal cord injury and prognostic analysis

Abstract:Objective To explore the Clinical and MRI manifestations in patients with traumatic cervical spinal cord injury and, meanwhile , to observe the prognosis .Methods 96 patients with traumatic cervical spinal cord ,who were admitted and sub-jected to MRI examination in in our hospital from January 2011 to May 2015, were selected in this study .At the same time, the relationship between spinal MRI and clinical manifestations as well as the prognosis were observed .Results In those 96 patients with traumatic cervical spinal cord injury , there were 50 cases of cervical fracture and dislocation , accounting for 52.1%, of which 42 patients accompanied with various degrees of protrusion of intervertebral disc .No fracture or dislocation was found in 46 cases, accounting for 47.9%.46 patients presented with varying degrees of disc herniation .Patients with spinal epidural hemato-ma and paraspinal soft tissue injuries were found in 30 cases, accounting for 31.3%;the prognosis of patients with different clini-cal manifestations exhibited variations .Conclusion Application of MRI for the diagnosis of traumatic cervical spinal cord injury can be beneficial to the observation of clinical manifestations of those patients , thereby providing reference for clinical treatment and the better improvement of their prognosis .
