The value of X-ray photography and MRI histogram in distinguishing of breast fibroadenoma and infiltrating ductal car-cinoma

Abstract：Objective To explore the value of histogram in distinguishing of breast fibroadenoma and infiltrating ductal carci -noma without obvious calcification .Methods 22 patients underwent breast mammography and MRI scanning were included from January 2015 to September 2015 in hosptial .8 cases of breast fibroadenoma and 14 cases of infiltrating ductal carcinoma without obvious calcification had been proved by pathology .The skew, kurtosis, mean, median and mode of histogram as well as the den-sity of the lesion were calculated by ImageJ software .The different between benign group and malignant group of the above index were analyzed .Results In mammography , the density of the lesion from infiltrating ductal carcinoma was significantly higher than that from breast fibroadenoma ( P <0.05), skew and kurtosis between two groups had also statistical difference ( P <0.05).In enhanced T1 weighted MRI, the skew, kurtosis and mode of histogram between two groups had significantly statistical difference ( P <0.01), though no difference in other index .The positive correlation between the density and mean in mammog-raphy ( P <0.05) and strong positive correlation between the density and kurtosis in enhanced MRI ( P <0.01) were found by correlation analysis .Conclusion The histogram of breast mammography and enhanced MRI has certain clinic value in distinguis -hing of breast fibroadenoma and infiltrating ductal carcinoma without obvious calcification .
