Correlative study of DTI parameter with MMP-9 in edema region of high grade gliomas

Abstract：Objective To investigate the correlation between DTI parameter and MMP-9 in edema region of high grade glio-mas.Methods 31 patients with high grade gliomas underwent conventional MR, contraste-nhanced structural and diffusion ten-sor MR imaging before therapy.The ADC values and FA values were measured at edema region with function tool software ( DTI tracking) .The expression of MMP-9 was detected by immunohistochemical staining .The correlation between ADC values,FA values and MMP-9 were analyzed.Results Expression levels of MMP-9 in 31 cases were 9 cases of +++( LI >60%) , 11 cases of ++(30%≤LI≤60%) and 11 cases of +–-(0≤LI <30 %).ADC values of edema region, +++(1.503 ± 0.310) ×10-3 mm2/s, ++(1.582 ±0.265) ×10-3 mm2/s and +–-(1.406 ±0.227) ×10 -3 mm 2/s).FA values, +++(0.176 ±0.033), ++(0.190 ±0.034) and +–-(0.219 ±0.056).Significant differences of FA values among MMP-9 dif-ferent expression levels were found with Kruskal-Wallis-test ( P <0.05), but ADC value was not.FA values and MMP-9 expres-sion had significant negative correlation ( r =-0.40, P <0.05).The ADC values had not correlation ( P =0.371).Conclu-sion Evaluation of FA values of edema region is helpful to differentiate tumor invasion.
