Abstract:Objective To explore the value of diffusion tensor imaging ( DTI) in the cervical spondylotic myelopathy .Meth-ods Twenty healthy volunteers and fifty with cervical spondylotic myelopathy were performed DTI .Fifty patients were divided in-to three groups according to cervical MRI scan standard , Group A had only the dura mater spinalis compressed;Group B showed the cervical spinal cord compressed , but no high signal in it;Group C had the cervical spinal cord compressed with high signal in the same level .ADC and FA values of these examinee were analyzed .Results The values of ADC and FA in the control group (C2/3, C3/C4, C4/C5, C5/C6, C6/C7) were no statistically significant differences ( P >0.05), averaged ADC and FA values were 0.875 ±0.123 ×10-3 mm2/s and 0.723 ±0.078;Between the control group and the group A , there were no statistically sig-nificant differences in ADC and FA ( P >0.05).There were significant differences in ADC and FA , between the control group and group B, between the control group and group C , as well as A, B, C groups respectively ( P <0.05).Conclusion DTI can early and accurately quantify the changes of microstructure in the cervical spondylotic myelopathy patients .
