Abstract:Objective To explore the diagnostic value of the best cut-off point of SR of thyroid nodules by ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration biopsy ( US-FNA) .Methods The strain ratio of 167 thyroid nodules from 164 patients who received exam-ination in our hospital were retrospectively analyzed .Taking the pathology results as the golden standard , a receiver operating characteristic ( ROC) curve was used to identify the best cut-off point of SR for differential diagnosis of thyroid nodules .All nod-ules were received US-FNA examination to eliminate patients whose diagnostic results were irrelevant to cytology .The US-FNA cy-tological diagnostic results of 163 nodules were compared with the pathological results or follow-up findings. Results The 0.50 was the best diagnostic cut-off point of SR, and the area under the ROC curve of the strain ratio was 0.890.The sensitivity, spe-cificity, positive predictive value , negative predictive value , and accuracy of US-FNA cytological diagnosis of SR <0.50 thyroid nodules were 97.18%, 80.00%, 97.18%, 80.00%, 95.06%, respectively. Conclusion US-FNA examination is valuable for the diagnosis of SR<0.50 thyroid nodules .SR can be used to assess the benign and malignant of thyroid nodules , and joint US-FNA can effectively improve the detection rate of malignant nodules .The SR can be used as evaluation index before FNA , helpful to improve the efficiency of US-FNA and reduce some unnecessary US-FNA.
