Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical value of cervical and cerebral CT angiography (CTA) by 64‐slice spiral CT in hyperacute cerebral infarction .Methods The cervical and cerebral CT angiography of 79 cases with hyperacute cer‐ebral infarction were performed by 64‐slice spiral CT within 6 hours after the onset of stroke .A variety of image process‐ing technologies were used to display the arterial stenoses ,with a classifications of 5 stages according to their manifesta‐tions on CTA ,and to evaluate the value of CTA in the diagnosis of acute cerebral infarction .Results On plain CT ,suspi‐cious cerebral ischemic area was shown in 6 cases ,including 2 cases with main trunk sign of middle cerebral artery .No brain abnormalities were found in remaining 71 cases .On CTA of this series of cases ,the arterial occlusions occurred at internal carotid arteries were found in 5 cases ,middle cerebral arteries in 24 cases ,anterior cerebral artery in 1 case ,pos‐terior cerebral artery in 1 case ,vertebral artery in 1 case ,and basilar arteries in 4 cases .Severe cerebral artery stenosis , occurring at middle cerebral arteries in 3 cases ,anterior cerebral arteries in 2 cases ,posterior cerebral arteries in 2 cases , vertebral artery in 1 case and basilar arteries in 3 cases ,were demonstrated .Conclusion In the diagnosis of hyperacute cerebral infarction in a larger area ,cervical and cerebral CTA by 64‐slice spiral CT can determine the stenosed or occluded cerebral arteries responsible for the stroke in a timely manner ,which provides the exact basis for effective clinical treat‐ment ,and shows important clinical value .
