Comparative study about MR imaging of primary trigeminal neuralgia

Abstract：Objective To analyze the imaging characteristics of vascular nerve compression (NVC) with TN through the comparative study of the angle of the trigeminal nerve and responsibility vascular with the patients of primary trigeminal neuralgia and healthy subjects by the MRI imaging .Methods 58 unilateral cases of the moderate and severe NVC of TN patients confirmed by MVD neuralgia and 46cases of normal patients were scanned by the two sequences imaging of MR 3D‐FIESTA and 3D‐TOF on each 1 mm .Results The angle of the trigeminal nerve and responsibility vascular be analyzed by the processed imaging .The angle of 45° to 90 ° about the trigeminal nerve and responsibility vascular were frequently found in the patients of TN .The difference of two groups existed in difference statistically ( P < 0 .01) .Conclusion The angle of 45° to 90 ° with the moderate and severe NVC more easily leads to the occurrence of trigeminal neuralgia .
