Abstract:Objective To explore the high‐resolution CT (HRCT ) findings of otosclerosis ,and to evaluate the value of HRCT in the diagnosis of otosclerosis .Methods 35 patients with otosclerosis proved by operation and clinic were ana‐lyzed retrospectively .All the patients were performed axial HRCT scanning .Results 35 patients ,a total of 63 ears , showed to be abnormal with HRCT .Among those ,15 ears showed abnormal in vestibular window ,with low density area anterior to vestibular window ,as enlargement of vestibular window .11 ears showed thickening of stapes floor with vestib‐ular window narrow .Both the vestibular window and stapes floor were involved in 27 ears .Both the cochlea and vestibular window were involved in 9 ears ,which exhibited low density of vestibular window and cochlea ,showing striped decreased attenuation or double circle signs .Conclusion HRCT can properly diagnose otosclerosis ,clearly display the lesion ,and reveal important position and shape of important anatomical structures within temporal bone ,which is helpful for an ap‐propriate operation plan .
