Abstract:Objective To study the pattern of CT and MR imaging of toxic encephalopathy induced by Benzene .Methods Retrospective analysis of 8 cases of benzene in CT and MR manifestation of encephalopathy patients .Results CT (7 cases) finding :the lesions appeared as low density and bilateral symmetry ,and involving the subcortical areas ,there are different degrees of brain swelling .MR (8 cases) examination :the lesions are involved on both sides of the frontotemporal occipital lobe brain white matter ,sac and on both sides of the dentate nucleus ,including 6 cases of lesions involving the globus pal‐lidus ;2 case of lesions involving the hypothalamus .MRI (8 cases) features :the lesions showed high signal on T2WI , T1 WI low signal .Among the 5 cases of high signal on DWI ,low signal on ADC map ;3 cases of high signal on DWI and ADC map .2 cases were enhanced MR scans were no obvious abnormal enhancement .Conclusion Benzene poisoning en‐cephalopathy has typical imaging features .CT and MR imaging examinations have important diagnostic value in the diag‐nosis of Benzene poisoning encephalopathy .
