Diagnostic value of neurovascular compression in trigeminal neuralgia with 3D FLASH-WE MR sequence

Abstract：Objective To evaluate the diagnostic value of neurovascular compression in trigeminal neuralgia with 3D FLASH‐WE MR sequence .Methods We analyzed the 3D FLASH‐WE and 3D TOF images of 34 trigeminal neuralgia pa‐tients ,and then compared the diagnosis of 3D FLASH‐WE and operation .Results The image quality of 3D FLASH‐WE was better than 3D TOF sequence .But ,there was no difference in displaying vessels .MR 3D FLASH‐WE diagnosed 29 cases existing vessel compression in 34 cases ,while ,28 cases were diagnosed by operation .Conclusion 3D FLASH‐WE sequence was better than 3D TOF sequence in displaying trigeminal nerve .3D FLASH‐WE can clearly show the relation‐ship between trigeminal nerve and the surrounding vessels .It is useful for etiological diagnosis and preoperative assess‐ment .
