Abstract:Objective To research the radial pneumatic tourniquet application and nursing in percutaneous coronary in-tervention and to analyze the effectiveness and safety of this therapeutic measure .Methods We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 1069 cases who underwent percutaneous coronary inter-vention through radial artery in our hospital in 2012 .They were divided into two groups according to the method of pneumatic tourniquet application .There were 535 pa-tients in observation group who were treated with radial pneumatic tourniquet and 534 cases in control group who were treated with the common bandage .Time for hemostasis and local immobilization ,status of the compre-ssing area ,comfort level after operations and incidence of complications of both groups were observed .Results There were no significant differences in age ,gender and underlying diseases between two groups ( P >0 .05) .The time for hemostasis and immo-blization were both shorter in the observation group than in the control group significantly ( P < 0 .05) .The status of compressing area and the comfort level were significantly better in the observation group ,and the complication rate was lower ( P < 0 .05) .Conclusion The radial pneumatic tourniquet was safe and effective after the operation of percuta-neous coronary intervention .With shorter time of hemostasis and local immo-bilization ,less complications ,radial pneu-matic tourniquet is more comfortable ,satisfying and is worth popularizing .
