Abstract:Objective To compare the relative signal intensity (RSI) of intratumoral susceptibility signal (ITSS) ,the size of ITSS in enhanced gradient echo T2 star weighted angiography (ESWAN) between high and low grade cerebral glio-ma .To evaluate the value of different series of MR to detect ITSS .Methods A series of MRI and ESWAN imagings of 30 patients with a pathlogic diagnosis of glioma were included in the study .Magnitude imagings were reconstructed with functool image-disposal software at ADW4 .5 workstation .We got the minimum ITSS intensity ,the signal intensity of splenium of the corpus callosum ,the size of ITSS in magnitude imagings .RSI was calculated .The size of ITSS in DWI , T2 Wi and T2-FLAIR were measured also .We used the statistical analysis software SPSS 17 .0 to analyze the difference of quantitative parameters between grade I~ Ⅱ and grade Ⅲ ~ Ⅳ gliomas .Results RSI and the size of ITSS had significant differences I~ Ⅱ grade and Ⅲ ~ Ⅳ grade gliomas .ESWAN ,DWI ,T2 WI and T2-FLAIR have different sensitivity in de-tection of ITSS and their sensitivity fall in turn .Conclusion ESWAN imaging quantitative parameters ,RSI and the size of ITSS are valuable in preoperative grading of gliomas .The sensitivity of ITSS of ESWAN ,DWI ,T2 WI and T2-FLAIR ITSS fall in turn .
