Evaluation of spectral CT in differentiating benign and malignant thyroid nodules

Abstract：Objective To evaluate the performance of spectral CT parameters to distinguish benign and malignant thyroid nodules .Methods A total of 58 patients with 72 nodules underwent plain and arterial phase enhancement spectral CT scan and were divided into benign and malignant groups .ICnod ,NICnod in plain and enhancement scan were derived .All the parameters were compared among the groups .Results The parameters ICnod and NICnod in plain scan for the malignant group were significantly lower than benign group ( P<0 .001) .The sensitivities and specificities for the parameters were from 100% to 92 .3% and from 89 .1% to 87% .ICnod ,NICnod in enhancement scan had no significant difference .Con-clusion The spectral CT in plain scan could differentiate benign and malignant thyroid nodules .
