CT and MR evaluation of cervical lymph node metastasis based on radiation therapy oncology group guidelines

Abstract：Objective To explore the relationship between distribution of cervical lymph node metastasis and location of the primary tumor ,and the CT and MR features of cervical metastatic node .Methods CT and MR appearances of 126 pa-tients with cervical metastatic lymph nodes of the neoplasms proved by surgery and pathology were reviewed retrospective-ly .The relationship between distribution of cervical lymph node metastasis and location of the primary tumor was ana-lyzed .Results The lymph nodes in level Ⅱb were the most commonly involved ,followed by level Ⅱa and Ⅲ .There was an obvious relationship between distribution of cervical lymph node metastasis and location of the primary tumor .Conclu-sion Distribution of cervical lymph node metastasis is related to lymphatic drainage pathways of the primary tumor .Dis-tribution of cervical lymph node metastasis based on radiation therapy oncology group guidelines plays a valuable role in e-valuating the origin of primary tumor .
