Abstract:Objective To explore clinical efficacy and safety of interlocking intramedullary nailing and plate fix﹣ation for the treatment of segmental fractures of tibia and fibula. Methods 60 patients in our hospital with segmental fractures of tibia and fibula were divided into interlocking intramedullary nailing combined with plate fixation group (observation group)and pure steel plate internal fixation group(control group)from Jun.2015 to Jun.2017.Efficacy and safety of the two groups were evaluated comprehensively. Results The time of fracture healing, hospital stay and surgical incision in observation group were significantly shorter than those in control group(P<0.05).The maximum back depth of ankle and functional score of the ankle joint in observation group were significantly higher than those in control group(P<0.05).There was significant difference on complication rate between two groups with 6.67%(2/30)in observation group and 23.33%(7/30)in control group(P<0.05 ).The recovery rate of fracture recovery in observation group(96.67%)was significantly higher than that in control group(80.0%)(P<0.05 ).Conclusion Interlocking intramedullary nailing combined with plate fixation can promote fracture healing in the treatment of seg﹣mental fractures of tibia and fibula with simple operation and high safety.
