Significance of Tuberculosis Spot Test in the Identification of Crohnˊs Disease and Intestinal Tuberculosis
Abstract:Objective To explore the significance of tuberculosis spot test in the identification of Crohnˊs disease and intestinal tuberculosis. Methods 60 patients with intestinal tuberculosis or Crohnˊs disease were collected. Tuber-culosis spot test was conducted and results were analyzed statistically. Results Tuberculosis spot test of 45 patients was negative and 10 positive in 55 patients with Crohnˊs disease. Tuberculosis spot test of 1 patient was negative and 4 positive in 5 patients with intestinal tuberculosis. The sensitivity and misdiagnosis rate were 80% and 18. 2% respec-tively. Conclusion Tuberculosis spot test can be an effective assistant means in the identification of Crohnˊs disease and intestinal tuberculosis. Negative result has high value to exclude intestinal tuberculosis. However,clinical diagno-sis,pathology,endoscopy and X ray need to be used for further diagnosis in patients with positive results.
