Analgesic Action of Combination of Asarum Decoction and Nifedipine in Mice

Abstract：Objective To observe the analgesic action of combination of asarum decoction and nifedipine.Methods The method of stretching induced by acetic acid was adopted.Results 26.6mg/kg was demonstrated to be the subthreshold dose of asarum by the experiment of analgesic action of asarum with different dosages in mice.Neither sole asarum(26.6mg/kg) nor sole nifedipine(2.5mg/kg)had analgesic action, but the combination of asarum and nifedipine had significant analgesic action compared with the model control (P<0.01) and the sole asarum group (P<0.01). The stretching frequency of the mice was reduced by 50% and 54% respectively.Conclusion Nifedi pine can enhance the analgesic action of asarum decoction. Combined asarum and nifedipine can be applied as an efficient analgesic drug.
