Study of BRCA1 Expression in Breast Cancer
Abstract:To explore the expression of BRCA1 in breast cancer and itsfunction in familial bresat cancer. The immunohistochemical staining with streptavidin-peroxidase conjugated method (S-P method) was conducted to determine the expression of BRCA1 in 42 cases of familial breast cancer and 42 cases of non-familial breast cancer.Result:26 cases were found BRCA1 mutation in 42 familial breast cancer. The rate of positive was 61.9%,include +,++,+++ and ++++ was 3,5,10 and 8 cases respectively. The average age of disease was 38.6. Only 5 cases were found BRCA1 mutation in 42 nonfamilial breast cancer, the rate of positive was 11.9%,include +,++,+++ and ++++ was 0,1,2 and 2 cases respectively, the average age of disease was 52.3. Conclusion: BRCA1 plays a very important role in the familial breast cancer, the age of the patients was younger than that of non-familial breast cancer patients .The study of BRCA1 mutation important clincal value in explanation the pathogenesis and early diagnosis of breast cancer.
