A Case Report of Root Canal Treatment for the Fusion-Type Middle Mesial Canal of the Left First Lower Molar
Abstract:Root canal treatment is an effective method for the treatment of pulp disease and apical periodontitis. Root canal遗漏 (omission) is a common cause of root canal treatment failure [1]. The middle mesial canal (MM) is a common anatomical variation in the first lower molar. Clinically, it is classified into fin-shaped, fusion-type, and independent-type. Among them, the fusion-type is more difficult to treat. Due to its low incidence, it is often overlooked in clinical practice, leading to treatment failure. This article reports a case of root canal treatment for the fusion-type middle mesial canal of the left first lower molar using micro-ultrasonic technology, aiming to provide a reference for clinical treatment.
