A Case of Aesthetic Restoration of Anterior Tooth Defect Using Digital Re-cutting Method with Composite Resin
Abstract:The layered composite resin restoration technique is a commonly used method for direct aesthetic restoration of anterior tooth defects [1]. It uses composite resin to simulate the thickness and color of natural tooth enamel and dentin, achieving a realistic restoration effect. Based on the clinical experience of dentists [2-3], the key to making the restoration appear like a natural tooth lies in accurately controlling the relative thickness of the simulated enamel and dentin resin layers [4]. Currently, the approach to address this challenge is to use a silicone matrix to assist in the layered composite resin restoration, that is, first restoring the palatal contour with a silicone matrix, and then building up the dentin layer and the enamel layer on the palatal surface [5-6]. Although this method solves the problem of palatal contour, it is difficult to achieve precise thickness of the dentin and enamel layers.
