Abstract:AIM:To evaluate the efficacy of an AI-assisted preoperative planning platform for optimizing socket preparation in autotransplantation of teeth(ATT).METHODS:This randomized controlled trial enrolled 40 patients with molar defects treated at our institution between March-October 2023.Participants were randomly assigned AI-assisted(n=20)or conventional protocol(n=20)groups.The AI group utilized a proprietary platform to process CBCT data for donor tooth selection, implantation simulation, and automated socket preparation planning. The control group conducted planning based on CBCT root morphology and surgeon experience.Primary outcomes included operative time, trial implantation frequency, and 1-year survival rate.Group differences were assessed using independent-samples t-tests and chi-square tests.RESULTS:Compared with the control group, the AI-assisted group significantly reduced socket preparation time(406.60±42.21)s vs.(714.40±69.86)s,(t=2.04,P<0.001)and fewer trial implantations(1.65±0.59)vs.(3.25±1.07),(t=-5.86,P<0.001).Survival rates at 1-year follow-up were also higher in the AI group(95%vs.70%,χ2=4.329).CONCLUSION:The AI-assisted preoperative planning platform significantly improves the efficiency and accuracy of ATT by reducing streamlining socket preparation, minimizing intraoperative adjustments, and enhancing graft survival. This approach minimizes periodontal trauma while optimizing surgical predictability, showing strong potential for clinical application.
