Three Cases of Palatal Double Root Canals in Maxillary Second Molars
Abstract:The root canal system of the maxillary second molar is relatively complex, commonly consisting of the mesiobuccal, distobuccal, and palatal roots. The occurrence of double root canals on the palatal side is relatively rare. There are occasional reports of cases with palatal double root canals in the maxillary second molar, but there has been no report of cases in which both maxillary second molars of the same patient exhibit palatal double root canals. We treated three cases of maxillary second molars with palatal double root canals, and in two of these cases, both maxillary second molars belonged to the same patient. The following is a report of these cases.
